The Dirtbags Travel To Wichita State This Weekend

LBSU and the Shockers resume a long time non-conference series
FIRST PITCH
Long Beach State travels out of California for the first time when the Dirtbags head to Wichita State this weekend.
Friday's game begins at 1 p.m. PT/3 p.m. CT. Saturday's action is set for 12 p.m. PT/2 p.m. CT. The series wraps up Sunday at 11 a.m. PT/1 p.m. CT.

BASEBALL NOTEBOOK
SCOUTING THE SHOCKERS
After dropping a 5-3 decision to Oklahoma on Tuesday night, Wichita State is 7-4 on the season.
Camden Johnson is the Shockers' leading hitter at a .457 clip. Derek Williams has a club-high five home runs while Seth Stroh has a team-best 11 RBI.
Lefty Caden Favors is the Friday probable starter. Favors is 2-0 in three starts has posted one complete game. Favors has struck out 25 in 21.1 innings while walking four.
Daniel Zang is scheduled to start on Saturday. The righthander is 2-0 in three starts. Pitching 14 innings, he has struck out 16 and has walked seven.
Tommy LaPour is the Sunday probable. LaPour is 1-1 in three starts. He has given up 10 earned runs in nine innings. LaPour has struck out 11 and walked five.
AGAINST THE OPPONENT
Long Beach State and Wichita State are playing for the 57, 58th, and 59th times with the Dirtbags leading the all-time series 30-26.
The Dirtbags took 2-of-3 from the Shockers last season in Long Beach to begin the 2023 season. This is the first time since 2014 in which LBSU travels to WSU for a series.
