Three Athletes Named To ACWPC Men’s Academic All-American Team

Long Beach State earned Team GPA award with a 3.02.
IRVINE, Calif.- The Association of College Water Polo Coaches announced the Men's All Academic Awards for the 2023 season, recognizing student-athlete's efforts in the pool and the classroom on Friday and Long Beach State had three players selected in Jackson Sanders, Nikola Jancic and Abdelrahman Soliman. Long Beach State was also named to the Team GPA list.
The 2023 awards recognize 594 student-athletes who were committed to maintaining high academic standards while excelling in their sport. These students listed maintained at least a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
Sanders and Jancic were both named to the Outstanding list for maintaining a 3.71-4.00 GPA for the 2023 season, the highest honors awarded. Sanders was also named to the Outstanding list for the 2022 season.
Soliman was named to the Superior list for his achievements in the classroom, maintaining a 3.41-3.70 for a second year in a row. Soliman also contributed 19 goals during his junior campaign for the Beach.
Long Beach State was named to the Team GPA list for achieving a 3.09 GPA during their 2023 season. The Beach was one of 51 colleges and universities named to the list.
