Hrehor Sixth In Hammer Throw

WILMINGTON, Calif.—Long Beach State opened competition at USC's Ron & Sharlene Allice Trojan Invitational Friday afternoon with a pair of throwing events at the Colich Throws Center.
MEN
Pablo Gamez finished third in the discus with a toss of 153-0. Later in the day, he came back to finish fourth in the hammer throw (198-6).
Cannan Wharry entered the invitational discus and threw a season-best 177-3. He finished fifth and second among the collegiate throwers in the competition. Wharry doubled up, throwing 175-4 in the hammer to finish ninth.
Tyler Knowles placed sixth after recording a 144-9 performance in the discus.
WOMEN
Keeley Rasmussen entered both throwing events. She was ninth in the hammer throw (162-2) and finished 15th in the discus (113-3).
Giszelle Hrehor placed sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 174-10.
The Ron & Sharlene Allice Trojan Invitational concludes on Saturday at USC's Locker Track Stadium. The field events begin at 11 a.m., while the track events begin at 11:30 a.m.
Long Beach State will also enter the 45th San Diego State Aztec Invitational on Saturday, and that competition will begin with the field events at 9 a.m.
