Sophomore Madison Le Closes Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational In Top 10

Long Beach State closed the tournament from Kaua’i in 14th place.
LIHUE, Hawaii – Sophomore Madison Le, returning for her first full tournament competed as an individual and finished in the Top 10 at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.
Le went under par for the third straight round, closing the tournament with a 71 to finish in sole possession of eighth place overall, 6-under par for the tournament. Kristina Ponomareva also competed as an individual for the Beach, and finished the tournament with an even-par 72 on Tuesday.
In the team competition, as a team Long Beach State shot 291 for the second straight day to hold their spot on the team leaderboard of 14th place. Senior Angelina Kim had the low score of the day, going on a hot streak with six straight birdies and finishing the day with a two-under par 70, the best score of the seven LBSU golfers on the trip.
Jasmine Leovao was also under par on Tuesday with a 71, and finished in a tie for 38th overall. Janae Leovao had a final round 76, but was the top finisher among the LBSU team in the tournament, tied for 30th overall at 3-over par after 54 holes.
Freshman Andee Avery rounded out Long Beach State's scores in the final round with a 74, two-over par in her best round of the tournament.
Long Beach State will play one more tournament prior to the Big West Championship, taking part in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic April 3-4 in Arizona at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Country Club.
