Long Beach State had a monster day to finish the fall. The team had four players in the 60s and carved up the Par 5 second with three eagles and a birdie. That team effort saw Long Beach State's rise continue, moving from a tie for ninth after the first round all the way to the best finish of the season so far, coming in second place overall behind tournament champions BYU, passing Eastern Michigan, San Diego State, Nevada and Kansas State on the final day with lowest team score of the entire tournament on Wednesday.
Junior Kylie Phi grabbed a podium finish to lead the way. Making just one bogey over her final two rounds, Phi closed the tournament with a four-under 68 to tie for third place overall in the highest finish of the season for Long Beach State.
Her score was matched by sophomore Kailey Yoon, who was four-under with two birdies and one of the three eagles on two. Yoon finished in a tie for 9th place overall, her third career Top 10 finish with Long Beach State.
Seniors Alyson Sor and Erin Lee both finished Tuesday with matching scores of 69 with two more eagles on hole two. It was the best round of the year for Erin Lee, while Sor claimed her second Top 20 finish of the season.
The team will break for the winter, returning in February with an annual tradition of facing off against San Diego State in a kickoff dual match before hosting the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic in Palm Desert.
