Sor finished with her fifth round of par or better this season.
LIHUE, Hawaii – Senior Alyson Sor finished the first round of competition at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in the Top 10, leading the way for the Beach at Ocean Course Hokuala.
Day One Results
Sor answered two of her bogeys on the day with immediate birdies, showing resilience on the way to an even par 72, her fifth round of par or better this season. That was good for a tie for 7th place, three strokes out of the lead after the first 18 holes from Kauai.
Sophomore Kailey Yoon closed the day with a 74 for the team's second-best score on Monday. All four of Long Beach State's other golfers shot 78, a group that included upperclassman Erin Lee and Kylie Phi, true freshman Ashley Hu making her collegiate debut, and Emma Kang playing as an individual.
As a team, the Beach is tied for 9th place in the 14-team field after the first round. The tournament continues Tuesday with live scoring available at https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/245189/scoring/team.
