Gabi Acosta Named To The 2025 Cutino Award Watch List

The freshman is the third Beach player to be nominated since 2022.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Freshman Gabi Acosta has been nominated to the 2025 Cutino Award Watch List as USA Water Polo announced this Thursday the players selected for the 2024 season.
The Peter J. Cutino Award, named in honor of the late Hall of Fame coach, honors the best player in men's and women's college water polo. This watch list was created in 2022 and selects 20 athletes recognized by their outstanding play.
Acosta is the third Long Beach State player to be nominated for the award. The freshman has been a key player for the 2024 team as he leads the team in goals with 38 in 15 games played. Acosta has also earned 20 ejections, recorded 15 steals and tallied three assists in the season so far.
No. 8 Long Beach State (13-8, 0-1 Big West) is back in action this Friday at the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center as they host No. 9 UC Irvine for the second game of conference play at 7 p.m. Live stats for the match can be followed on thefosh.net.
