Women’s Golf Repeats As Tri-Dual Champions To Kick Off Spring

Next up is Long Beach State’s home event, The Beach Invitational starting February 5.

OJAI, Calif. – Freshman Andee Avery was the top finisher on the day for Long Beach State, the first top team finish of her young career as the Beach claimed both the individual and team titles in Wednesday's tri-dual with CSUN and CSU Bakersfield in Ojai.
 
                Played at Soule Park Golf Course, Long Beach State had the only two rounds under par among the 20 golfers competing on the day, as Avery claimed the Individual Championship with a 3-under par 69, matching her collegiate-low competitive round behind five birdies on Wednesday. Sophomore Janae Leovao was also under-par with a one-under 71 to help Avery lead the seven LBSU golfers.
 
                Jasmine Leovao tied for third with a one-over 73, while Madison Le rounded out Long Beach State's team scoring with a 3-over par 75, tied for sixth overall. As a team, Long Beach State finished with an even-par 288, 11 strokes in front of CSU Bakersfield and 27 in front of CSUN.
 
                Senior Angelina Kim, playing as an individual, also finished in the Top 10 with a 77, while freshman Erin Lee was one further stroke back with a score of 78 on Wednesday.
 
                Long Beach State will dive right back into competition, hosting The Beach Invitational in its 12th year, returning to Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, Calif. Spectators are welcome to attend throughout the three rounds of competition which will be played on February 5 and 6.
