Freshman Robert Lopez Duart earned the honors after an explosive goal scoring performace at the Triton Invitational.
LONG BEACH, Calif.—Freshman Robert Lopez Duart was selected as the Big West Conference player of the week as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Lopez Duart opened his Long Beach State career in impressive fashion as he scored 20 goals in four games at the Triton Invitational. The Barcelona, Spain native scored multiple goals in all four games, highlighted by a seven-goal performance in an upset win over No. 4 Stanford. Lopez Duart also scored six goals in the 26-8 victory over Concordia on Sunday.
No. 8 Long Beach State's season continues this weekend as they take part in the Inland Empire Classic where they will play in four games beginning with Claremont on Saturday at 9 a.m.
