Four Men’s Water Polo Players Earn Golden Coast Conference All-Academic

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Golden Coast Conference announced the recipients of GCC All-Academic honors on Wednesday, recognizing four players from Long Beach State.
Golden Coast Conference Player of the Year Rafael Real Vergara was honored, joined by Konstontinos Koulouris, Jason O'Donnell and Abdelrahman Soliman.
In order to be eligible for the award, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher while meeting participation minimums across the selected season, the 2022 campaign in this instance.
The announcement of the academic awards is one of the final acts of the Golden Coast Conference on the men's side. With Cal State Fullerton adding Men's Water Polo and the addition of UC San Diego into the membership, the Big West Conference will sponsor the sport next season with six teams, folding in an additional sport from Long Beach State into its primary conference.
