Five From Women’s Tennis Earn All-Big West

Over half of the young roster honored following the 2022-23 season.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State had five separate players honored as the Big West Conference announced the postseason All-Big West honors on Thursday. Over half of Long Beach State's young roster was honored in voting by the conference's coaches, totaling seven awards.
Sheena Masuda and Justine Dondanay took top honors in doubles, earning first-team all-conference. The duo were 8-5 in dual match action playing exclusively in the top flight while going 5-1 in Big West play. A sophomore, Masuda was recognized for the second consecutive season with Big West honors.
Also earning doubles honors were Peppi Ramstedt and Rhona Cook. The tandem had a stellar season finishing the year with an overall 16-5 and 8-1 conference record, including an eight-match winning streak. After earning Honorable Mention status last year in doubles, Ramstedt earned All-Big West Second Team after leading Long Beach State with an overall 23-8 doubles record.
Ramstedt and Cook also both earned Honorable Mention All-Big West in singles. Ramstedt played in the second flight for Long Beach State, putting up 13 wins over the year while Cook went 5-2 in Big West action while playing in the third flight in singles.
Long Beach State's top flight singles player, junior transfer Sarah Medik, was a second-team All-Big West selection. Picking up 15 wins on the year in singles, Medik finished with four wins in Big West action while playing exclusively at No. 1.
