Beach Track and Field Closes Weekend at USC and UC San Diego

Long Beach State had six individuals and a relay team in action on Saturday.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Long Beach State had eight student-athletes compete in the newly renamed Ron and Sharlene Allice Trojan Invitational on Saturday with four field competitors and a relay team.
Results
Natasha Tehrani stood out amongst the group posting a new lifetime best in the women's Pole Vault. Clearing the bar at 3.90m (12-9.5), she finished second in the event moves into a tie for ninth best mark in program history with a 1.25 inch PR improvement.
Throws captain Malia Talavou competed in women's Shot Put. The senior posted a throw of 13.68m (44-10.5) to finish third. Similarly, Aiden Pastorian was in action in Shot Put for the men's team putting up a mark of 16.22m (53-2.5) also finishing third.
Cyprus Rice was the fourth and final individual to compete at USC on the day. Finishing third in men's Pole Vault, he posted a clearance of 4.83m (15-10.25).
The only action on the track for the Beach came in the women's 4x100m Realy. The quartet of Jayda Rustemoglu, Kaitlyn Williams, Rahni Turner, and Jaelyn Predium combined for a 45.99 in the race, finishing fifth.
LA JOLLA, Calif. – Only two Beach student-athletes made the trip down I-5 to UC San Diego as Sebastian Coleman and TJ Wiggins competed in the men's Discus invitational.
Results
Wiggins had the better mark of the two throwers at 54.32m (178-2) competing against some of the best in the nation. Coleman was not far behind with a throw of 52.67m (172-9).
The Beach is back in action next weekend at home as they host the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on Thursday and the Beach Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
