•  The offense owns a .271/.353/.446 slash line with 211 runs in their 31 games. Of the team's 294 hits, 105 have gone for extra bases, including 39 home runs which ranks second-most in the Big West.
•  The pitching staff now owns a 4.30 team ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. In 280.1 innings pitched, they have racked up a Big West leading 311 strikeouts compared to 111 walks.

WINNING WAYS
•  After being swept by UC San Diego in their conference opening series, the Dirtbags have rattled off 11 wins in their last 13 games and eight of their nine Big West games in that time.
•  In that span, they posted an eight-game win streak overall which ranks the longest of the Valenzuela Era and longest since 2017. They also won eight consecutive conference matchups, the longest streak since 2007.
•  Statistically, Long Beach has hit .288/.356/.478 averaging 7.46 runs per game and have pitched to a 3.72 team ERA and a 1.41 WHIP in the last 13 games.

FLAIR FOR THE DRAMATIC
•  The Dirtbags have played 10 games this season where the outcome was decided in the final at-bat of the game. They own a 6-4 record in those games. Of the six, four have led to walkoff victories including three walkoff home runs.
•  Since hitting coach Bryan Peters came over with Coach Valenzuela, Long Beach State has launched six walkoff home runs at Blair. The first of the trio this season came on opening weekend from Rocco Peppi. The other two came two weeks ago from Jonathon Long.

THE WIN STREAK
•  Long Beach State won eight consecutive games over the two weeks from March 22 to April 2.  While the streak was ended by No. 22 UCLA, it still goes down as the longest since the team won eight straight since the 2017 season. It is also the longest streak of the Valenzuela Era.
•  The longest win streak in program history is a 15-game win streak during the 1989 season when the Dirtbags made their first ever College World Series appearance.

MIDWEEK MADNESS
•  The Dirtbags played another high scoring affair in their midweek at Fresno State this week, topping the Bulldogs 10-7 to complete the season sweep.
•  This year, the 'Bags are 4-3 in midweek games averaging over six runs per game. The offense has shined the most posting a .281 average with an .837 team OPS.

BATTLE AT THE BIG A
•  Last Thursday, in collaboration with USC, the Dirtbags announced the Tuesday, May 2 midweek game with the Trojans will be played at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
•  This will be the fourth time in program history, Long Beach State will play in a big league park having previously played in Seattle, San Francisco, and San Diego.

IN THE NATIONAL STATISTICAL RANKINGS
•  The Dirtbags' recent success has bumped them up all over the NCAA stat rankings, especially on the pitching side of things.
•  Currently, they rank in the nations' Top 50 with four shutouts (10th), 2.85 strikeouts per nine (20th), 3.47 walks per nine (23rd), 3.47 walks per nine (23rd), 4.30 ERA (37th), and 1.38 WHIP (46th).
•  The position player group ranks 19th with 20 sacrifice flies this season and 63rd with a .976 fielding percentage.

SCOUTING THE MATADORS
•  CSUN enters the week with a 19-8 overall record and 6-3 mark in Big West play. They are coming off their conference bye weekend, taking two of three from Mercer.
•  The offense is slashing .319/.413/.492 on the year with 28 home runs and 203 RBI. They are the league leaders in average, on-base, and slugging percentage while ranking second in runs, hits, doubles, and RBI.
•  The pitching staff owns a 4.48 team ERA with a 1.38 WHIP. In their 231 innings of work, they have totaled 220 strikeouts compared to 108 walks.

AGAINST THE OPPONENT
•  Long Beach State and CSUN have faced off 155 times in program history with LBSU leading the all-time series 87-68. In the Dirtbag era, that record stands at 50-31 in favor of the 'Bags. Long Beach enjoys the home field advantage with a 51-30 mark at Blair.
•  Coach Valenzuela is 3-4 against the Matadors since taking over the Long Beach program. Their first series of the Valenzuela era was a four-game set at Blair that ended up as a 2-2 split. Last year in Northridge was a series win for CSUN.
