The Beach will look to extend their winning streak to four on Saturday.
LONG BEACH, Calif.— The Long Beach State women's water polo team will look to extend their winning streak to four as they head north to play UC Davis at noon on Saturday.
No. 6 Long Beach State (16-6, 4-1) is coming off of a strong win against UC Santa Barbara that saw them fall behind early but persevere to win the game in the second half. An outstanding 13-save performance from Chelsea Oliver kept the game close as Elisa Portillo paced the Beach offense with four goals, giving her 46 this season. Martina Cardona and Anne de Kleer also had strong offensive showings with three goals each.
No. 10 UC Davis (15-11, 3-2) enters Saturday's contest on the heels of a dominant 18-3 win over Cal State Fullerton. For the second straight week, the Beach will look to slow down a top-five Big West scorer, as four-time All-American Noelle Wijnbelt leads the Aggies with 48 goals this season.
UC Davis leads the overall head-to-head matchup against Long Beach State with a record of 21-15. Long Beach State has won the last two matchups between the two teams, however a win in Davis would be the first for the Beach since 2016.
Saturday's game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and live stats will be available on theFOSH.net.
