LONG BEACH, Calif. – A strong third period by No. 5 Hawai'i gave the Rainbow Wahinecontrol over No. 10 Long Beach State in a 9-7 win over the Beach. Polina Synytsia added eight saves while Lucy Miszewski added a hat trick.

No. 5 Hawai'i (9-3, 2-0 Big West) started ahead, capitalizing on an early ejection, but Lucy Miszewski tied things for Long Beach State (8-9, 1-1 Big West). A penalty goal put UH ahead once again, but Polina Synytsia's massive penalty shot save right after led to a goal by Chiara Amoroso to tie the game once again. A mistake by LBSU led to a counter by the 'Bows whotook the lead once again after eight minutes, 3-2.

A strong start by Long Beach State gave them their first lead after scoring two goals in 50 seconds on goals from Daniela Quinzada and Miszewski's second of the day, taking a 4-3 lead. A penalty shot by Elisa Portillo extended the lead before Hawai'i rallied back to tie the game late in the quarter, 5-5 at half.

A quick goal by Amoroso gave the Beach another lead in the game before UH mounted a four-goal run to lead 9-6 with 1:26 left. A late goal by Miszewski put LBSU back in the game, trailing 9-7 with one quarter remaining.

The Beach was stopped by Hawai'i goalie Daisy Longtens in the fourth as UH controlled the scoreless quarter to secure a 9-7 win over Long Beach State.

The Beach will head North next to face UC Santa Barbara (1-13, 0-2 Big West) on February 8 at Noon for their next Big West game, live on ESPN+, with live stats provided through TheFOSH.net.
