Long Beach State Well Represented At 2023 Pan American Games

Long Beach State has two players and head Coach Gavin Arroyo representing their countries in the tournament.

LONG BEACH, Calif.—Long Beach State men's water polo has earned great representation for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile this month. The tournament serves as an Olympic qualifier, with the winner directly qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. 
 
Head coach Gavin Arroyo is in his seventh year as assistant coach of the Men's Senior National Team. This is Arroyo's second Pan American games as a coach, but he has also competed in the event as a player, winning in 1995 and 1999.
 
Two Long Beach State athletes have been selected by their national teams to compete. Bruno Chiappini will feature as a key member of the Brazil national team, while Jason O'Donnell is representing Canada.
