Bruno Chiappini Named Big West Conference Player Of The Week

Chiappini is the second Long Beach State player to win the award this season.
LONG BEACH, Calif.—Sophomore men's water polo player Bruno Chiappini was selected as the Big West Conference player of the week as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
After winning a silver medal at the PanAm Games in Santiago, Chile with the Brazilian national team, Bruno Chiappini returned to Long Beach State and played a crucial role in their overtime win over No. 12 Loyola Marymount. The Sao Paulo native scored a season high six goals, including two goals in overtime to seal the victory for Long Beach State, 16-14.
Chiappini has had an impressive second season for the Beach with 45 goals, 21 assists, and 22 steals so far this year.
Long Beach State's season continues with the Big West Tournament this weekend. The Beach will face UC Davis in the first round on Friday at 4:30 p.m. in La Jolla.
