No. 7 Long Beach State Hosts UC Santa Barbara In Final Big West Game Of Regular Season

Both teams enter the contest at 2-2 in Big West play.

LONG BEACH, Calif.- Long Beach State men's water polo returns to Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center on Saturday as they take on No. 11 UC Santa Barbara to close regular season Big West play. The contest will feature two high-powered offenses and four of the top five scorers in the Big West. Long Beach State has won the last four matchups between the two schools dating back to 2021. 
 
The Beach (15-10, 2-2) enters Saturday's contest having split their games last weekend. Robert Lopez Duart's performance highlighted the weekend for Long Beach State as he scored 10 goals in the two games, including a seven-goal performance against Cal State Fullerton. His 105 points this season (78 goals, 27 assists) is a new Long Beach State record for most points scored in a single season. Evan Cain, Caleb Francisco, and Marc Frigola also had strong weekends as they each scored at least four goals. 
 
UC Santa Barbara (15-12, 2-2) is coming off a victory against UC San Diego that snapped a three-game losing streak. The Gauchos are led by junior Dash McFarland who is second in the Big West with 77 goals this season. McFarland is followed by Adam Gyenis who is third in the conference with 53 goals. Overall, UC Santa Barbara has six different players who have scored 20 or more goals. 
 
Saturday's game will get started at 7 p.m. at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center. Live stream will be provided by ESPN+ and live stats will be available at theFOSH.net.
