ABOUT LAST WEEK
•   The Dirtbags went 3-1 last week picking up a victory over USC in their final midweek of the season before taking the series against CSU Bakersfield.
•   Against USC, it was the offense and the bullpen. Four Dirtbags posted multi-hit efforts led by Eddie Saldivar's 2-for-4 day with three runs and four RBI while Ethan Clough, Jonathan Carlos, Dalton Ponce, and Matt Fields combined for 5.1 scoreless frames out of the pen.
•   The offense stayed hot in game one at Bakersfield scoring 16 runs on 15 hits. Chase Luttrell and Peyton Schulze were the headliners cominbining to go 6-for-7 with six runs and six RBI in the 16-2 rout of the 'Runners.
•   CSUB evened the series on Saturday with a 7-4 win, holding the 'Bags to just four hits on the day.
•   The finale saw some back-and-forth before LBSU scored four times in the final three innings to take the 5-2 victory. Rocco Peppi notched the game-winning RBI with a double in the seventh that put the Dirtbags out in front.

ABOUT THE DIRTBAGS
•   Long Beach State enters the weekend series as winners in seven of their last eight games. They have picked it up since snapping their losing streak with three consecutive series wins over their last three weekends. They have climbed up to sixth in the Big West standings with a 12-12 mark (24-26 overall).
•   The rollercoaster of a year has consisted of seven wins over ranked opponents, three of which were Top 10 teams. Unfortunately it has also included separated six-game and ten-game losing streaks.
•   It's been the pitching staff leading the charge, with the most shutouts in the conference as well as the lowest WHIP and batting average against. Their ERA and and strikeout total ranks second in the Big West.
•   Offensively, they have been middle of the pack all season ranking seventh in batting average and eighth in total runs scored.
•   The defense has been stellar all year though leading the Big West with a .974 fielding percentage making the second fewest errors (47) in over 1800 chances.

ABOUT CAL STATE FULLERTON
•   The Titans enter the weekend with a 9-30 overall record and 11-13 mark in conference play, sitting in eighth in the Big West, one game back of LBSU. Coming off being swept by Cal Poly, they have lost four of their last five games and four consecutive series.
•   Historically known for their pitching, it's been the offense making noise this season as they rank third in the league with a .280 team average. Heading that group is Austin Schell, who is the only Big West hitter above .400 ranking fifth in all of NCAA at a .415 clip.
•   The Titan pitching staff owns a 5.47 team ERA which ranks third-worst in the Big West. Opponents are hitting .278 against them. Friday night ace Tyler Stultz has been the best starter with a 3.77 mark in a team-high 74 innings while Fynn Chester owns a 2.96 out of the bullpen.

RIVALRY RENEWED
•   Widely considered one of the best and most storied rivalries in college baseball, the Dirtbags and Titans will play thei 257th, 258th, and 259th games against each other in program history.
•   Long Beach State trails the all-time series 97-159 and trails 49-79 when playing at home. However, the Dirtbags won last year's four-game series in Fullerton, outscoring CSF 30-17 over the weekend.
•   LBSU will be looking to snap a four-game home losing skid against Fullerton when they meet this weekend.
