Long Beach State Wraps Season Ranked No. 9

The Beach has finishes with highest ranking since 2013.
Long Beach, Calif. — The Long Beach State women's water polo team wrapped up the 2022 season with its highest final ranking since 2013.
After the season wrapped, the Beach landed at No. 9 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association final season poll.
With its first full season completed since 2019, the Beach finished 15-14 and went 3-3 in Big West action to take the No. 3 seed in the Big West Tournament.
In Honolulu, the Beach defeated No.6-seed UC Santa Barbara.
LBSU had three athletes earn Big West honors as Orsi Hertzka led the group earning All-Big West First Team honors. Hertzka scored 70 goals for the second time in her career.
Along with Hertzka, Lena Kotanchyan and Marilia Mimides landed a spot on the All-Big West team.
Kotanchyan scored 32 goals and ended up on the second team while Mimides scored 32 goals and earn an honorable mention.
