Beach Track and Field to Compete at UCR and UCLA

Long Beach State will have athletes at the UCR Multis meet and UCLA’s competition on Friday and Saturday.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State track and field team will be represented at two meets this week. Several athletes will head to UC Riverside Spring Classic for the multi-events while majority of the team heads to UCLA for the Bob Larsen Distance Carnival and Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational.
The Riverside meet will be on Thursday and Friday with the competition at UCLA on Friday and Saturday.

The three athletes competing in the multis at UCR will be Hailey Fune, Kayla Reynante, and Spencer Eley. The men's Decathlon is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. both days with the women's Heptathlon starting at approximately at 12:00 p.m.
The rest of the team will be at UCLA with the Hammer and Javelin throws taking place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday followed by all the distance races under the lights, starting at 5:30 p.m. Competition on Saturday begins on the field at 10:30 a.m. with track events starting at 1:35 p.m.
Long Beach State is coming off a tremendous weekend at the Trojan Invitational that saw 10 new program top ten marks, including Crystal Washington setting the school record in women's Triple Jump. Sebastian Coleman was another standout, earning his second Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week in as many weekends of outdoor competition.
