ABOUT LAST WEEK
•   The Dirtbags posted another 3-1 week last week with a midweek win over then No. 23 UConn followed by a conference opening series win over Hawai'i.
•   Against the Huskies, Zach Voelker led the charge with six no-hit innings for his second win of the season. Offensively, the team drew a program record 13 walks while Luttrell and Porter notched two-hit games and Peppi and Long each recorded a pair of RBI.
•   In game one against Hawai'i, it was all about the return of Luis Ramirez as he and Matt Fields combined for a two-hit shutout of the Rainbow Warriors. Ramirez tossed seven shutout innings with 10 punch outs in the 4-0 win.
•   In game two, a ninth inning rally plated two runs for the Dirtbags to force extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth, Chris Jimenez became the hero launching a deep solo home run to left field and securing the series for Long Beach State.
•   Game three went to Hawai'i as they jumped out an early 3-0 lead through three innings before a three-run home run made it 6-0 and put the game out of reach for the Dirtbags.

PRESEASON FAVORITES
•   The Big West Conference announced the results of the preseason coaches' poll  and the 'Bags were tabbed as the favorites in the league prior to opening day. They received 7 first-place votes and 97 total points.
•   It marks the first time Long Beach State has been voted as the favorites since the 2008 preseason poll when they topped rival Cal State Fullerton by three points.
•   UC Irvine (3 first place votes, 92 points) and UC Santa Barbara (1 first place votes, 81 points) also received first place votes and round out the top three in the poll.

•   This Tuesday night matchup will represent the 121st time Long Beach State and Fresno State have linked up in their history. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 66-52-2 and are 41-20 when playing in Fresno.
•   The Dirtbags have lost three of the last five with the last meeting taking place in 2018 as the Bulldogs took two of three in a weekend series.
•   Since the start of the Dirtbag era in 1989, the two teams are deadlocked with a 17-17-1 record over the course of the 43 years.

ABOUT FRESNO STATE
