Orsi Hertzka scores three as Long Beach State wraps up non-conference play.

Long Beach, Calif. — Long Beach State wrapped up non-conference play on Sunday afternoon with a loss against No. 1 Stanford at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center.

After Stanford took a 1-0 lead after a penalty, Mariah Walker evened the score when she converted on a 6-on-5 advantage in the first minute of play.

The Cardinal responded with a 7-0 run to take an 8-1 lead midway through the second period.

Elena Kotanchyan got the Beach on the board when she connected to cut the deficit to 8-2.

The Beach (11-11) got things going offensively in the fourth as Orsi Hertzka scored two of her three goals in the final four minutes as the Beach cut the Cardinal lead.

In the cage, Chelsea Oliver had saves.

LBSU will be back at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center on Friday for their Big West Conference home opener.
