Beach Tennis is set for Watanabe Classic

The Beach will have six athletes competing this weekend.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - LBSU Tennis takes the court to wrap up the fall tournament season at the Watanabe Classic in Las Vegas, with action running Friday through Sunday. Long Beach State will compete against UNLV, Oregon, Iowa, Utah, and SDSU. The format will feature four, eight-player singles draws and two, eight-team doubles draws. 
  
The Beach will have six players competing this weekend. Sheena Masuda and Rhona Cook will team up in doubles play in flight one and are paired up against Goncharova-Lopez out of Utah. Sarah Medik and Mathilde Tranberg will take part in flight two. The pair will duel against the home team, Hu-Zhao of UNLV.  
  
As for singles action, Tranberg will compete in flight one against Molly Helgesson of UNLV. Competing in the same flight as Tranberg, Medik will take on Andjela Skrobonja of SDSU. Rhona Cook will be the lone Beach representative in flight 2. She match up against Marcela Lopez of Utah.  Continuing with singles matches, Peppi Ramstedt will compete in flight three against Cindy Hu of UNLV while Justine Dondonay will face Anya Lamoreaux of Iowa. Lastly, Hana Becirovic Novak and Sheena Masuda will compete in flight four. Becirovic Novak will matchup against Katarina Hersh of Utah while Masuda faces Karin Young of Oregon.  

Play begins at 10 a.m. PT each day, with doubles action up first followed by singles play.
