Long Beach State Drops Two To Cal And Fresno State

The Beach wrapped up Cal Cup play on Sunday.
Berkeley, Calif. — Long Beach State wrapped up the Cal Cup with losses to No. 4 Cal and No. 8 Fresno State Sunday at Spieker Aquatics Center.
In the opening game of the day, the Beach lost to Cal 11-3 to the host Golden Bears. It was a cold shooting performance for LBSU as they shot 3-for-22 and went 2-for-6 on powerplay opportunities.
In the contest Lena Kotanchyan scored a team-high two goals.
To wrap up the day, Kotanchyan and Hertzka scored two goals as the Beach lost to Fresno State, 14-9.
The Bulldogs got off to a fast start taking a 5-2 lead as the Beach (3-3) couldn't make the comeback.
The Beach had seven athletes score in the contest as LBSU shot 36 percent on its shot attempts.
Long Beach State will be back in action when they travel to San Diego for the Triton Invitational Feb 12-13.
