Beach Tennis Opens Fall Season This Weekend in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - LBSU Tennis takes the court for the first time in 570 days at the San Diego State Fall Classic, with action running Friday through Sunday. Long Beach State will compete against the hosts San Diego State, plus Cal State Northridge, Grand Canyon University, San Jose State, and the University of Texas, El Paso.
The format will feature five singles flights and two doubles flights.Â
The Beach will have seven players competing this weekend, with all but Zara Lennon competing for the first time at the collegiate level.Â
In singles action, Lennon will compete in the scarlet flight, with Arina Babkova and Nikola Homolkova playing in the black flight. Claire Le Du and Sheena Masuda will compete in the gold flight, while Andreea Ciornei and Zuzanna Szczepanska will play in the silver flight.
As for doubles action, Lennon and Babkova will be partners in the scarlet flight. Szczepanska and Le Du along with Homolkova and Masuda make up two pairs competing in the black flight for the Beach.
Play begins at 9 a.m. PT each day, with doubles action up first followed by singles play.
