Long Beach State heads to UCR for a four-game series against the Highlanders
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State continues their eight-game road stretch with four games in Riverside against the Highlanders.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Dirtbags played back-to-back weekends against ranked opponents after heading to #24 UC Irvine this past weekend, forcing a series split.
• The Dirtbags jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in Friday's opener, but the Anteater offense scored 12 unanswered runs to take game one.
• Game two was another offense game, only this time it was Long Beach State in front. The Dirtbags evened up the series with a 13-4 win recording 18 hits in the win.
• Game two of the doubleheader had the makings of another offensive battle as UCI came out of the first inning with a 3-2 lead, but the pitching allowed nothing else.
• In the finale, LBSU put together a dominant outing winning 9-0 as Noble and Harrison combined to shutout UCI and force a series split.
ABOUT THE DIRTBAGS
• The Dirtbags are currently sixth place in the Big West standings with a 12-12 record in league play; 14-13 overall.
• Long Beach State's power has picked up over the last couple weekends as they're .427 slugging percentage ranks second in the conference. Their 27 home runs is third most in the league despite playing fewer games than most everyone else.
• On the mound, the pitching staff ranks fourth with a 4.54 ERA, but still ranks second with a .240 opponent average. The 225 strikeouts in conference action is second-most.
• Defensively, the Dirtbags rank fifth in Big West play with a .976 fielding percentage and have made the fourth-fewest errors.

• The Highlander pitching staff has the worst ERA in Big West action with a 6.83 ERA and opponents are hitting .323 against them. Zach Jacobs paces the team with 53.2 innings and 42 strikeouts. None of the UCR pitchers have an ERA lower than 3.00.
