Long Beach State Tennis Announces 2021 Schedule

The Beach will play a condensed 14-match schedule this season
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State tennis head coach Jenny Hilt-Costello announced the 2021 schedule on Wednesday morning. The competitive slate is comprised of eight Big West Conference contests and six non-conference matches beginning on Thursday, March 11.
Following almost a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Long Beach State will kick off the season at UC San Diego on Thursday, March 11 at 2 p.m. The Beach's home opener is set for Saturday, March 13 at the Rhodes Tennis Center where LBSU will host Big West Conference foe Cal Poly at 11 a.m.
The Beach will play a total of seven matches in the month of March as they host San Diego on Wednesday, March 17 at 2 p.m., before traveling south to take on San Diego State on the road on Friday, March 19. Long Beach State will host conference opponents Hawai'i (March 21) and UC Santa Barbara (March 27) on consecutive weekends, before closing the month at San Francisco on Wednesday, March 31.
Long Beach State will continue its road swing with four more away matches at UC Davis (April 2), Loyola Marymount (April 7), Cal State Fullerton (April 14), and UC Irvine (April 16), before closing the regular season with three home contests. The Beach will welcome Oregon (April 19), UC Riverside (April 21), and CSUN (April 24) to the Rhodes Tennis Center before heading to the Big West Tournament in Indian Wells, Calif., April 30 – May 2.
LBSU is the reigning Big West Champion as the Beach collected their 13th title in 2019 with a gritty, come-from-behind victory over Hawaii, 4-3.
