The Beach Has Four Honored on All-American Teams

Rafael Real Vergara, Matt Morris, Andrej Bosanac and Garrett Zaan earn All-American honors.
Long Beach, Calif. — The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches announced the 2021 All-American teams on Tuesday and the Beach had four athletes represented on the list.
After a stellar season, Rafael Real Vergara was named to the All-American First Team after scoring 70 goals and dishing out 20 assists for the Beach this season.
Real Vergara is the fifth Beach athlete in program history to reach the 70-goal mark and has a total of 119 goals scored throughout his career to plant himself at No. 24 in program history.
Joining Real Vergara is goalkeeper Andrej Bosanac, Matt Morris and Garrett Zaan who earned All-American Honorable Mention honors.
Andrej Bosanac capped his first season with his first All-American honors and had an impressive resume in his first season as regular starter for the Beach. He was named the Golden Coast Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player as the Beach went on to capture the GCC Tournament title and went to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three seasons.
In the cage, Bosanac had 245 saves and 49 steals.
Joining Bosanac and Real Vergara with his first All-American honor was Matt Morris who finished the season with 42 goals.
Rounding up the Beach athletes who earned honors is Garrett Zaan who earned his second honorable mention.
Zaan finished the season with 36 goals and had a memorable GCC Tournament as he was a key part of the Beach's win over Pacific in the championship game.
