No. 5 Long Beach State Prepares For Busy Weekend

The Beach will face two Top 10 opponents this weekend.
Long Beach, Calif. — After spending a month on the road, Long Beach State will be back at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center for a weekend of action.
After going 2-0 last week, the Beach moved up to No. 5 and will host No. 10 San Jose State on Saturday and No. 3 USC on Sunday.
Along with their contests on Saturday and Sunday, the Beach will have exhibitions against Golden West College and Long Beach City College.
LBSU will wrap up the weekend when they welcome familiar faces for the alumni game.

GCC HONORS
Matt Morris was named the Golden Coast Conference player of the week on Thursday after a solid performance last week. He scored a total of seven goals in victories over UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara.
PATIENTLY WAITING
The Beach hasn't competed since the 2019 season and is ready to get back in the pool after not competing during the 2020 season.
INTERNATIONAL TIES
The Beach had four athletes compete at this year's FINA Men's Junior Water Polo Championships in Prague. Liam Ward, Zach Frazier and Evan Cain competed for the USA, while Abdelrahman Soliman competed with Egypt.
OLYMPIC COMPETITION
Coach Gavin Arroyo represented the United States at the Tokyo Games as an assistant coach for the national men's water polo team.
