Matt Morris Earns GCC Player of the Week Honors

The senior scored seven goals including four in a victory against UC San Diego.

Long Beach, Calif. — Matt Morris was named the Golden Coast Conference player of the Week on Thursday after solid performances in two victories against UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara.

Morris was solid in a non-conference victory against the Tritons scoring three goals in the first period before finishing with four.

During LBSU's 9-8 last-second victory over then No. 4 UC Santa Barbara, Morris scored three goals.

Morris is the third Beach athlete to earn GCC honors this season. Morris joins Rafael Real Vergara and Andrej Bosanac who earned the honors in back-to-back weeks in September.
