Five Long Beach State players scored in double-figures, and Kristyna Jeskeova notched a double-double in the win

LA JOLLA, Calif. – Long Beach State shot 45.6 percent from the field as five players scored in double-figures, led by Jasmine Hardy, while Kristyna Jeskeova notched a double-double as the Beach rolled over UC San Diego, 74-53, at RIMAC Arena on Saturday night.
LBSU (9-1, 8-0 Big West) extended its winning streak to eight games, the program's longest such streak since the 2014-15 season. With the victory, the Beach remain undefeated in Big West Conference action, while the Tritons fall to 2-5 overall and in league play.
Hardy continued her offensive tear from the night before as she tied her season-high with 17 points, just one shy of her career-best. Hardy led a quintet of double-figure scorers as Patricia Chung tied her career-high with 15 points, while Jeskeova added 12, and Myrrah Joseph and Justina King each registered 10.
Jeskeova led the Beach in rebounding with 16, a new career-high for the sophomore, as she recorded her second double-double of the season. Additionally, Jeskeova contributed three steals and a pair of blocks.
The Beach broke the game open in the second half as they shot 51.9 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes of action, while limiting the Tritons to 32.3 percent in the second half and a mere 21.4 percent in the fourth quarter alone.
Long Beach State went on numerous scoring runs and continued extending its lead over UC San Diego. The Beach opened up a 10-point lead in the third quarter (48-38) after Kianna Hamilton-Fisher sank a pair of free throws, before taking a 57-46 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Beach finished the third quarter logging four-straight points and opened the fourth with five-straight to put together a 9-0 run which gave LBSU a 62-46 advantage at 7:56. Long Beach State continued building its lead with its hot-shooting, and after a Savannah Tucker layup at 3:32, the Beach found themselves with a commanding 20-point lead (70-50). From there, LBSU rolled to a 24-point win.
UC San Diego was led by Tyla Turner's 16 points, while Parker Montgomery added 10. Sydney Brown led the Tritons in rebounding with eight, while Turner finished the game with eight assists, four rebounds, and three assists.
Long Beach State forced UCSD into 18 turnovers and came away with 11 steals on the night. Additionally, the Beach defense put up four blocks and LBSU out-rebounded the hosts, 41-34.
The Beach had its best shooting performance in the final 10 minutes as LBSU shot 57.1 percent from the field and made 9-of-15 free throws to outscore the Tritons 17-7 in the frame.
Long Beach State will return to the Walter Pyramid to host UC Santa Barbara on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 6. Both games will tip-off at 4 p.m.
