
Beach Basketball Receives Commitment From Alabama Transfer Raymond Hawkins III

The big man returns to California after one season at Alabama.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State has received the commitment of 6-9 forward Raymond Hawkins III, who is transferring from Alabama after one season with the Crimson Tide.

Rated a four-star recruit by ESPN out of Findlay Prep, Hawkins III was listed as the No. 3 prospect in the state of Nevada after playing three seasons at Bishop O'Dowd in Oakland. As a senior, Hawkins III averaged 14.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game while leading Findlay to a 19-6 overall record.
In his hometown of Oakland, Hawkins III was a three-time all-conference selection and averaged 15.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 blocks per game while leading Bishop O'Dowd to the Northern California Open Division championship game with a 27-6 overall record.
He comes to the Beach after his lone season at Alabama eager to start a new chapter and make his mark in the Big West.
