Long Beach State Hosting UC Irvine On Senior Night

LBSU will take on UC Irvine on Thursday, before traveling to Santa Barbara for the regular season finale.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State will have its hands full this week as they look to send off their seniors on a high note. No. 13 Long Beach State (15-12, 1-2) will take on No. 7 UC Irvine (17-8, 3-1) on senior night. The Beach and Anteaters will battle it out on Thursday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m.
LBSU comes into the weekend looking to end a two game skid after a heartbreaking loss against No. 9 UC Davis. The loss against the Aggies was followed by a dropped match against No. 5 Hawai'i. LBSU will head up to Santa Barbara to take on No. 11 UC Santa Barbara (19-7, 2-2) at noon for the regular season finale.
Long Beach State is led by freshman Orsi Hertzka who has 62 goals on the season. Hertzka has already placed herself in the LBSU record books for most goals scored in a single season as she is in sole possession of the seventh spot. Hertzka is 14 goals away from tying Stacy Black for first place, and six goals back of tying Ashley Richardson and Dayna Wawrzynski for second place at 68.
Following Hertzka is junior Marilia Mimidi with 41 goals, along with freshman Sarah Barker who has 33 goals. Rounding off the top five goals scorers for the Beach this season consists of seniors' Annabel Harman (31 goals) and Tori Morrissey (29 goals).
Morrissey is also in contention for the LBSU record books with most assists in a single season as she has 26, which is two shy of tying the 10th spot. The spot is currently owned by Tara Campbell and Roberta Stewart.
