
LBSU T&F Heads to the UCSD Triton Invitational

Beach throwers and pole vaulters will compete exclusively in the event.
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Long Beach State field athletes will be center stage this weekend, with only the throwers and pole vaulters competing Friday and Saturday, April 12th and 13th at the UCSD Triton Invitational.
The women will begin competition on Friday in three scheduled events. Erykah McNairy, Amanda Truong, Crystal Rodriguez and Malia Talavou will each be competing in the hammer and discus throw scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Friday. De'Ondra Young and Samantha Perez will compete exclusively in the hammer.
The Beach will also have a trio in action in the women's pole vault, with senior Kennedy Krueger holding the ninth best-seed mark going into competition. Amy Bell and Teresa Tamashiro will also be competing in the event on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. To wrap up competition on the women's side, Malia Talavou will compete in the shot put scheduled at 2:00 p.m.
On the men's side, Josh Carr, Nicholas Hudson, Ryan Coy, Anthony Sommers, Charlie Vernoy, and Sebastian Coleman will all have an early start on Saturday in the invitational section of the hammer throw scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Hudson holds the eight best seed mark (208-01.50) in the event.
All six athletes will also compete in the discus throw, while Coleman, Kammurallah, Otine, and Vernoy each compete in the shot put.
The trio of Michael Magula, Christian Mueller, and Eley Spencer will take action in the men's pole vault invitational set at 4:30 p.m. Blair Robinson will be the only LBSU athlete competing in the triple jump, holding the second best-seed mark of 50-02.75.
