Long Beach State To Take On Four Opponents In Aztec Invite

No. 17 Long Beach State will take on No. 22 San Diego State, St. Francis (PA), No. 14 UC San Diego and Fresno Pacific.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State (6-10) will take on three opponents as they travel to San Diego for the Aztec Invitational. LBSU went 2-2 last weekend in the Wolverine Invite and will look to add more wins to the win column this weekend.
The Beach are set to battle host No. 22 San Diego State (5-7) in their opener at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 9. Later in the day, the Beach will confront St. Francis (PA) (6-13) at 3:30 p.m. The Aztec Invitational will conclude on Sunday, where the Beach will play against No. 14 UC San Diego (7-11) at 10:30 a.m. and then Fresno Pacific (3-12) at 1:00 p.m.
The Beach are led by freshman Orsi Hertzka who has scored in every game this season and has totaled 41 goals on the season. Hertzka is set on pace to break LBSU records, or at least make her way into single season records. Hertzka is 16 goals away from tying the 10th spot in most goals scored in a single season.
After missing the first four games on the season, junior Marilia Mimidi is making up ground as she has bagged 20 goals on the season. Senior Tori Morrissey and sophomore Olivia Grim both have 18 goals on the season for the Beach. Rounding off the top five scorers for the Beach is senior Annabel Harman with 17 goals.
