Junior Natalia Munoz Named Big West Player of the Week

The junior led Long Beach State to a pair of wins, including a victory over Hawai’i.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Junior Natalia Munoz led the Beach to a pair of wins, including an important league victory on the way to earning Big West Player of the Week.
The Santa Clarita native was a perfect 3-0 in three matches played last week while leading the Beach to a pair of wins. Helping the Beach take the doubles point with a 6-1 win against Cincinnati with Lalita Devarakonda, Munoz then accounted for a second point on the day with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
The following day, with only singles contested against the Rainbow Wahine, a 6-3, 6-3 win over Nikola Dolokova gave the Beach a 2-1 lead over Hawai'i that they would not relinquish in a 5-1 win.
The junior is the third player this season from the Beach honored as the Big West Player of the Week, joining a pair of freshmen in Dominique Meyer and Wiktoria Rutkowska.
