Rafael Real Vergara Earns Final GCC Award After Strong Offensive Performance.

LONG BEACH, Calif.—Freshman Rafael Real Vergara was awarded the final Golden Coast Player of the Week Award after helping the Beach win their final two regular season games.

    Rafael Real Vergara continues to impress scoring five goals on Thursday in the 21-20 overtime win at No. 12 LMU (13-11, 5-2 WWPA) and three goals in the road win at No. 15 UCI on Saturday (7-14, 0-5 GCC).

    Vergara was recognized this week as a First-Team All-GCC Player and All-Freshman Team Player in his first year with the Beach after scoring 43 goals in 16 games.

    Vergara and the Beach look to take a run in the Golden Coast Conference Tournament this weekend. Their first game is on Friday at 1 p.m. at Pepperdine where they will take on San Jose State in the first round of the tournament.
