Wiktoria Rutkowska Named Big West Player Of The Week

The freshman earned the award for the first time in her initial opportunity.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Freshman Wiktoria Rutkowska was named the Big West Player of the Week following an outstanding tournament at the Beach Tennis Invitational.
A freshman from Puszczykowo, Poland, Rutkowska teamed up with another freshman in Dominique Meyer to claim the doubles title at the Beach Tennis Invitational, held over three days at the Rhodes Tennis Center last week.
The duo went unbeaten in three matches against CSUN, Portland State and San Diego, clinching the championship with a 6-4 win over the Torero duo of Nicole Anderson and Kati Kukuras.
Rutkowska also went 2-1 in singles at the tournament, knocking off both Lotti Meszaros of Portland State aned Jolene Coetzee of CSUN in straight sets.
Long Beach State begins dual play this week when LBSU hosts UC Riverside on Saturday at the Rhodes Tennis Center.
