No. 10 Men’s Water Polo hosts No. 11 Pepperdine on Friday

Long Beach State men’s water polo will look to snap a three game losing streak on Friday against No. 11 Pepperdine at home at 7 p.m.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State men's water polo team looks to snap a three-game losing skid when they host their conference opener on Friday at 7 p.m. against No. 11 Pepperdine. Long Beach has a current record of 6-4, while Pepperdine rolls in with a 6-6 record. The Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center will be home of a tough battle on Friday night.
Pepperdine will enter Friday's matchup having lost four straight games, including losses to Cal, UC Santa Barbara, and UCLA. In Pepperdine's last match, they fell to Cal by a score of 13-11.
LBSU enters Friday's matchup looking to get back in the win column having lost their last three games to UCLA, UC San Diego, and Cal. Long Beach State's last game was against UCLA, when they almost escaped with a victory to upset the No. 2-ranked Bruins, but lost 9-7.
Junior Austin Stewart leads the Beach in goals with 19 and has six assists. Seniors Chandler Kaltenbach (16 goals), Keegan Wicken (12 goals) and Austin Stevenson (12 goals) follow Stewart, along with junior Johnathan Wong (12 goals) at the top of the goal rankings. Stevenson is coming off an impressive performance having scored a hat trick against UCLA.
