Beach Tennis Hosts Winter Invitational This Weekend

LONG BEACH, Calif. - With the start of dual match play just one week away, Long Beach State is hosting schools from three different states at the Beach Tennis Winter Invitational this weekend at Rhodes Tennis Center. The 49ers welcome Big West rivals CSUN, plus Utah State and UTSA.
Long Beach State will open play Friday, playing doubles vs. Utah State and singles against UTSA. The rotation continues throughout the weekend with doubles vs. UTSA on Saturday and singles play against CSUN. Finally, it will be doubles vs. CSUN and singles vs. Utah State on Sunday.
The entire schedule will be based on weather, as there are heavy rains expected in Long Beach throughout the weekend. Matches will be played as weather permits, so fans are encouraged to head to Rhodes Tennis Center while skies are clear.
The dual match schedule begins next Friday, Jan. 27 as the Beach visit LMU. The home opener is also the Big West opener, Saturday, Feb. 4 against UC Riverside.
