Beach Tennis Begins All-American Tournament This Weekend

Long Beach, Calif. - The fall season continues this weekend as Long Beach State women's tennis will have four competitors at the 2016 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Los Angeles. Pre-qualifying is Oct. 1-2, the qualifying round is Oct. 4-5 and the main draw will be held Oct. 6-9.
Long Beach State will send a pair of doubles teams into the pre-qualifying round on Saturday, looking to advance to Sunday's action, which would require to more wins to advance to the qualifying round.
Maeva Razakasoa and Julie Gerard will pair up to take on Viktoriya Dzyuba/Denise Buberl from Lipscomb on Saturday morning at 10:30. In another part of the bracket, Hayley Thompson and Lena Pacholski will join forces and play the No. 3 seed in pre-qualifying, Caroline Brinson/Kennedy Shaffer from Georgia, also at 10:30.
Razakasoa will also be competing as a singles player in the tournament, but has already been placed into the qualifying draw. Therefore, she will await the pre-qualifying results to determine who her opponent will be in singles action, which starts on Tuesday.
