Long Beach State Named ITA All-Academic Team Again

Long Beach, Calif. - Once again, the Long Beach State women's tennis team has excelled in the classroom as well as on the court, earning another ITA All-Academic Team award for 2016. The Beach has claimed the award in 12 of the last 14 seasons, earning a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or higher to qualify.

Furthermore, there were four individuals who earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status for the Beach: Laura Eales, Julie Gerard, Antonella Santeusanio, and Ebba Unden. Players are considered ITA Scholar-Athletes if they have a GPA of 3.50 or better, earned a varsity letter, and have been enrolled at their current school for at least two semesters.

This is the fourth ITA Scholar-Athlete honor for Ebba Unden, who won every year she was eligible at Long Beach State. Eales earns the distinction for the second time in as many seasons for the Beach.
