Long Beach, Calif. - Senior Maeva Razakasoa continues her busy fall season Thursday at the 2016 Oracle ITA Masters tournament at Pepperdine University, representing Long Beach State at the exclusive event. As the reigning Big West Player of the Year, Razakasoa received an invitation to the tournament, which is in its second year of competition.
Razakasoa will start the competition Thursday at 8 a.m. with the first round of mixed doubles play, where she will partner with the Big West Men's Tennis Player of the Year, Alec Adamson from UC Davis. They will face the team of Katarina Adamovic (Oklahoma State) and Gergely Madarasz (Purdue). If Razakasoa and Adamson earn a victory in their opening match, they will return to action at 4 p.m. in the Round of 16 for mixed doubles.
In the singles draw, Razakasoa checks in as the No. 14 seed, and will go up against the No. 19 seed Lauren Proctor from Winthrop. That match will start at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, kicking off Round of 32 action. A win in the opening round would mean a matchup with the winner of No. 3 Sara Daavetlla (North Carolina) and No. 30 Shreya Pasricha (Fairleigh Dickinson).
Live scoring will be available through the ITA Tennis website, and a live video stream can be accessed through a membership with FloTennis.com.
