Lappas, Ferreira, Strong Named 2015 MPSF All-Academic

Dimitrios Lappas, Russell Ferreira, and Jared Strong represent Long Beach State University in the 2015 All-Academic MPSF Team.
This is Lappas' third award as a senior following the 2015 season - also awarded All-MPSF Honorable Mention and third team All-American Honors. Lappas earned his first All-Academic award with a cumulative GPA of 3.01.
He closed the season as the third leading scorer on the team with 30 goals, scoring in 19 of 29 games and netting multiple goals in six matches. Lappas led the scoring for the Beach early in the season with three hat tricks in the first five games.
Junior Ferreira earned a 3.06 cumulative GPA, garnering his first career award at LBSU. During the season, he added a goal in the Beach's 19-2 win over Occidental.
Strong led the team with a cumulative GPA of 3.14. As a sophomore, Strong played in 22 games during the season.
To be selected for the All-Academic team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, must have completed a full academic year at their school prior to this season, must be at least a sophomore academically, and must have completed in fifty percent or more of the school's competition schedule during this season.
