ITA Academic Awards Roll In Fro Beach Tennis

LONG BEACH, Calif. - For the 11th year in a row, the Long Beach State women's tennis team distinguished itself as an ITA All-Academic Team. Laura Eales, Karolina Rozenberg and Ebba Unden also earned individual recognition from the ITA.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any member program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. All eligible student-athletes whose names appear on the NCAA, NAIA or Junior/Community College eligibility form and have competed in one or more varsity matches must average into the GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2014 and spring 2015).
Eales, Rozenberg and Unden all garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete honors as individuals, leading the charge academically. Rozenberg ended her career with her third Scholar-Athlete honor in her four years at the Beach. Unden, a three-time All-Big West first team selection, as brought in her third Scholar-Athlete award. She was also selected as the Big West Scholar-Athlete of the Year last fall. This is the first career ITA academic honor for Eales.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters
All three individuals earned All-Big West honors in 2015 after helping the Beach to another Big West championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
