Beach Tennis To Face Virginia Tech In NCAA First Round

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- The Long Beach State women's tennis team won't have go far for its first round matchup in the NCAA Tournament. Beach Tennis was placed in the USC regional and will face Virginia Tech in the first round.
Long Beach State, No. 40 in the latest ITA rankings, will meet No. 39 Virginia Tech on Saturday, May 9 at 9 a.m. in USC's Marks Stadium.
The 2015 Big West champions earned an automatic qualification into the field of 64 for the fifth year in a row. The Beach's first round opponent, Virginia Tech, was an at-large selection out of the Atlantic Coast Conference. It is the Hokies first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 15 years.
On the other end of the bracket, USC earned the top seed in the national tournament and will host Youngstown State in the first round. The winners of the two matches will meet in Sunday's second round at noon.
