The 49ers came out strong against Loyola Marymount, by out scoring them in a 4-2 lead after one quarter. Juniors Zacchary Kappos and Connor Reilly kept up the momentum in the second quarter by leading the team to an 8-2 lead by half time.
In the third quarter, Loyola Marymount scored 3 goals to pull the score to 11-5, but Long Beach State answered back in the fourth quarter, scoring one more goal to take the 12-6 victory.
Carrying the momentum from the first game, the 49ers scored the first 10 goals of the game against the Air Force, and would take a 10-0 shut out into halftime. Seniors Dan Matulis and Milos Vrzic both lead the first half by scoring 2 goals each.
The 49ers maintained their pace and would outscore the Air Force 15-1 in the third quarter. The Air Force came back for vengeance in the fourth quarter by scoring 3 more goals, but the 49ers added more four goals to the board to finish off a 19-4 win.
On September 13th the 49ers will play UCLA and Pepperdine at UCLA. Go Beach!

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - No. 6 Long Beach State Men's Water Polo finished off the 2014 Triton Invitational at UC San Diego by dominating with another pair of dominating wins on Sunday, defeating Loyola Marymount 12-6 before beating Air Force by a score of 19-4.
