Senior Rachel Manasse named the Big West Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Long Beach, Calif. - Senior Rachel Manasse was named the Big West Player of the Week for women's tennis after posting a 4-0 record in two dual matches last weekend.
A 5-5 senior from Redondo Beach, Calif., Manasse is now 6-0 in dual matches in 2012 after going undefeated for the second straight weekend.
Playing with Laura Bernard at No. 1 doubles, Manasse defeated the #44 team in the nation to help the 49ers pick up the doubles point against #75 Wyoming in an 8-4 win, and won 8-3 in doubles the following day against Iveta Masarova and Julia Hansen.
In singles, Manasse had a dominant win against Wyoming, defeating Synkova 6-1, 6-1, and won against Hansen at No. 2 singles against Pacific 6-4, 6-1.
Manasse earned the award for the first time in her career, and is the first 49er honored in 2012. Teammates Klaudia Malenovska and Anais Dallara have both previously won the award.
