Armstrong and Dallara take Fullerton Invitational doubles title

Long Beach, Calif. - Facing a pair of teammates in the finals of the Fullerton Invitational, Deborah Armstrong and Anais Dallara took an early lead against Klaudia Malenovska and Rachel Manasse and held on to win 8-6.
Rather than forcing Dallara and Malenovska to play a fourth match on Sunday, the 49ers opted instead to hold the Fullerton Invitational doubles final on Monday at the Rhodes Tennis Center, since it featured two Long Beach State teams.
In that match, Armstrong/Dallara picked up an early break to open a 6-3 lead, but Malenovska/Manasse rallied to break back and tie the set at 6-6.
Serving to maintain the lead, Armstrong/Dallara did in fact hold, and came back and broke Malenovska/Manasse one final time to take the Fullerton Invitational title.
Long Beach State gets the weekend off from competition, and will be back in action on Oct.21 at the ITA West Regional.
